Translation Queue & Cron

License-aware resumable batch jobs, retries and WP-Cron.

Large translations run through a resumable queue rather than one long WordPress request.

Job structure

A job stores:

• job type
• object ID when relevant
• source/target language
• provider
• total/completed/failed counts
• job status
• timestamps and creator

Each job has individual queue items with their own status, attempts and error message.

Why batching matters

Shared and managed WordPress hosting can terminate long PHP requests. The queue breaks large work into controlled batches so completed translations are retained even if a later batch fails.

Workers

The plugin can process jobs through:

• WP-Cron
• browser-assisted admin worker while an Instant Languages page is open
• manual Process next batch control

Retry

Failed items can be retried without repeating successful items.

Recovery

The queue can recover stale processing items left behind by an interrupted worker and can reconcile old open jobs that no longer contain runnable items so they do not block newer jobs.

Duplicate protection

Whole-site workflows de-duplicate queued work so repeatedly starting the same operation does not intentionally retranslate existing successful content.

License-aware queue processing

Commercial v0.20.0 checks Stardetha entitlement before premium queue processing/retry operations. Existing completed translation records are not deleted when entitlement is unavailable.
