Backup, Migration & Uninstall

Protect translation data and understand deletion behavior.

Instant Language Switcher stores its working data in WordPress database tables and options. Normal full WordPress database backups therefore protect the translation inventory.

Before a major upgrade

Recommended:

1. back up the WordPress database
2. keep a copy of the current plugin ZIP
3. upgrade on staging first for high-value sites
4. verify provider diagnostics, routing and a few representative translated pages

Moving a website

A complete database migration should carry languages, segments, translations, glossary, memory, jobs and logs. After changing domain/permalinks:

• save WordPress Permalinks
• clear caches
• run Scan all content
• verify prefix routes
• verify rendered-site discovery loopback requests

Uninstall behavior

By default, uninstall should not be treated as a data purge unless the dedicated delete-on-uninstall setting is enabled.
