Auto mode

Auto mode is designed for sites that want DeepL as the first choice while retaining broader fallback coverage through Google.

Provider decisions and failures are recorded in Diagnostic Logs.

Custom / self-hosted mode

Advanced deployments can configure:

• endpoint URL
• optional bearer API key
• timeout and batching through the normal translation settings

This preserves compatibility with a privately hosted translation service while allowing normal WordPress queueing, storage, review and frontend delivery.

Existing queued jobs

Translation jobs store the provider selected when they were created. Changing the Settings provider later does not silently reroute an existing job to a different provider.
